We are a local family business based in Upminster, Essex, trading since 1997. Superior Shutters operates as a sole trader, owned and run by George Armstrong following the retirement of founder David Bone.
Originally operating under the name David Bone Interiors, the business was rebranded to Superior Shutters after David’s retirement to reflect our sole focus on supplying and installing high-quality plantation shutters. David’s passion for wood and carpentry laid the foundation for the company, and today we continue his commitment to craftsmanship and excellent customer service.
We do not operate a showroom, which means we avoid unnecessary overheads – savings that we pass directly on to you. We pride ourselves on offering outstanding value for money and maintain a price promise that we will not be beaten on any like-for-like products.
How we work
When we receive an enquiry from you, we will make an appointment to come and visit you in your home or you can give us your rough measurements if you’d prefer. Then George, the owner of the business, will visit you and take basic measurements of your windows or use your measurements provided and can then quote you a price for your shutters which includes fitting. If we are within your budget, we will then arrange to do a site survey and measure accurately.
Installation
Your shutters will be fitted by the owner of the company, George. No subcontractors are used. George will measure up your windows and this eliminates any errors. All finishing is included within our price. After installation if you have any questions you can speak directly to us.
